Religion as a means for development

I spent the weekend attending a business  seminar organized by mine local church it was a two day,7 hour intensive training session without the usual religious overtone forgive my language .

My point is religious institution i.e churches  have powerful voices to radically change lives more than any government institution invented by man hence the need for worshippers to raise the standard of worship centres to truly be the House of light.what I mean in that sense is  we can make or encourage church leaders to make the church truly the light of the world.A place where a day to day practical life transforming impact can be made on peoples mindset i.e financial management which includes a building a  culture of saving, reduction in debt acquisition, talent management etc.some would say what business as churches got to do with finance.
I would say they are inter-related because a person that is financially buoyant is a plus for the church in helping the needy in their midst, not to mention the community, the region and nation in general.I have come to believe that the problem in the Niger Delta are all economics. The battle of  supremacy/domination are financial because on this side of the divide in nigeria 99.9% of the indigene are christians.Why on this forum we are working out unique means in reducing youth unemployment which is a ticking time bomb in this nation the like of which we the people of Niger Delta have witness many of the debris of that timebomb in terms of youth restiveness and pipeline explosion etc. Its instructive that you can play a little role in youth empowerment by advocating vocational training programmes that are easy to deploy in shortest time possible in our churches.
